02 · The block

Night by night, room type by room type

A group's page shows its block as a grid: each night, each room type, what it holds and what it picked up. Change a run of nights and the preview says what it takes out of sale or gives back before anything is saved.

A block takes only rooms that are free: it never oversells

Its reservations stay booked when a group is cancelled

03 · At the desk

Book guests straight from the block

Add reservation on a group's page opens the desk on the group's dates. The rooms the group holds count as free for its guests, the group's rate comes first, and the reservation joins the rooming list.

04 · The night audit

Close each business date

The Night audit screen shows the business date and when it rolls over, then what the desk still has open: arrivals not checked in, departures still in house, guests in house who owe money and guests without a room, each one click from its reservation. Run it and it recognizes the night's room revenue and tax.

Questions, answered

Which plan includes groups?

Stays Business, for hotels. The night audit is part of every plan.

Does a group take rooms other guests could book?

Only the rooms in its block, and only until its release date or until you release it. What the group has not picked up then goes back on sale by itself.

Can I undo a change to a group?

Yes. A new group, a change to its block, a release or a cancellation can be undone from the notice that confirms it, as long as the rooms it would hold again are still free.

Does the night audit charge guests or mark no-shows?

No. It recognizes room revenue and tax and lists what the desk still has open. Charging, no-shows and check-outs stay with the desk.
